 Goals and objectives

Our raison d’etre for the last twelve years was to provide the local and international business community with hard-to-find data, market knowledge, economic and business information on Ukraine and the former Soviet Union. We have witnessed how the Big Six became Five and how it affected their Ukrainian operations, how numerous small local survey research firmlets turned into marketing advisors overnight, how our clients proceeded on the road of the knowledge needs from questions like “what kind of country is this” to “how should we attune to the low income level segment”, and further to “should we go for competitive intelligence to the north-western regions or do a national run?”
We have seen how marketing in this country stopped being associated with marginal business (e.g., “qualified female secretary looking for a job. No sex and marketing offers, please” frequently in classifieds some years ago). We are still serving two quite different business communities:
- western firms, from FORTUNE 500 to entrepreneurial souls looking for a sound understanding of local market mechanisms, access channels and end-users;
- local companies, becoming increasingly aware of the need to get marketing-wise organization in order to succeed.
Our sequential approach, tried and tested on over 100 clients, lies in:
- understanding the needs of our clients, and often - helping them formulate these needs;
- making sure that we deliver exactly what the client needs and is able to integrate flexibly into their existing systems;
- going all the needed extra miles to retrieve, analyze, verify, and present all the available data, facts, information, and knowledge, existing on a certain subject, be it market segments, distribution mechanisms, competitors, end-users, or simply available human resources.
We are convinced that in our business, and in this country the basic rule is NO RULES. Constant attention to, and respect of the intricate interplay of politics, law, social issues, economics and sheer business is what separates success from survival. We are usually on the success side with our clients and for their sake.
Sincerely yours,
Serghei Dascalu
President.
